Principal - Halsnead Primary School

Group 3 School: L19 – L23 (£61,341 – £67,652)

Full-time, permanent

Required from 1st September 2018

Due to the forthcoming retirement of the Principal at Halsnead Primary School we are seeking to appoint a highly-motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational leader to lead the future development of our school.

Halsnead is a larger than average, vibrant and happy primary school set in the village of Whiston, within the borough of Knowsley and less than ten miles from Liverpool City Centre. The area is to undergo a substantial growth in the near future with the development of Halsnead Garden Village, including 1,500 homes, a country park and a variety of community and leisure facilities.

They currently have 364 pupils on roll aged from 3-11 years including a Nursery unit that offers wrap-around care and after-school provision. Support for vulnerable children and their families is a strength of the school, with staff working closely as a team to ensure all children strive to achieve the best they can. The school is extremely inclusive and prides itself on the nurturing ethos it has. Their motto is ‘strive to achieve’.

As a school, they work hard to provide a curriculum matched to the needs, interests and abilities of their children, in an atmosphere of trust, friendship and mutual respect and in an environment that is attractive, stimulating and supportive of learning. They are proud of the range of experiences that they offer at the school in the arts, sport, modern languages, community and international links which enrich the curriculum offer.

This is your opportunity to have a significant impact upon our amazing children and families by ensuring the highest standards of education leading to achievement for all. We require a strategic leader who has the vision, integrity and interpersonal skills to lead Halsnead Primary as we seek to grow the school to greater achievements.

A full package of induction will be provided for the successful candidate.

Applicants are warmly encouraged to visit Halsnead Primary, by appointment, in the week beginning 5th February. Please contact Lisa Cope, School Administrator, on 0151 477 8130 or by email at halsnead@knowsley.gov.uk to arrange an appointment.

The best thing about being a student at The Heath is that all the teachers care and push you to do your best so you do well in life and later in school. Also if you have an issue it is always sorted out by either your form tutor or caring teachers.
